The 11th Annual gathering of YMCA Chaplains and Pastors in the YMCA was held earlier this month at the beautiful Silver Bay YMCA in upstate New York. Located on gorgeous Lake George in the heart of the Adirondacks, the group gathered to be refreshed, renewed, and challenged in their ministry in the YMCA.
General sessions included times of worship, prayer, informational presentations, and challenging messages, including greetings from several international Christian leaders in the YMCA movement. This week also serves as the annual meeting of the US Mission Network’s Ministry Cabinet.
Two separate breakout tracks address the needs of the Pastors and the YMCA Chaplains/Mission representatives. The separate groups focused on relevant issues that would help them be more productive in their efforts to lead the Christian mission effort in their local YMCA. Strong bonds were renewed or formed between the participants.
This annual event at the Silver Bay YMCA is underwritten each year by the generous donation of Paul and Jane Ingrey. Living in the local area, the Ingreys want to see Silver Bay used to fulfill its original purpose as a training ground for Christian leaders in the YMCA.
If you know of a YMCA Chaplain or a Pastor serving a church that is partnering with a local YMCA that is unaware of this annual gathering please let us know. We’d love to connect them to this encouraging time held on the first week of October each year.
