Church Partnership
Community Impact

The Bible makes it clear that faith and works are intimately connected in the life of a Christian. While we are to be about the business of calling people to faith, that faith is to be demonstrated in action.

The folks at Express Church, which meets at the Phoenixville YMCA outside of Philadelphia, are taking that mandate seriously!

Recently we received a report from Pastor Justin Chapman outlining some of the things he and his congregation are doing to live out this mission. The recent baptism of a couple in the Y pool is just the latest example of how individual lives are being touched spiritually through the ministry of the church.

Justin and the entire congregation are rejoicing in the way that God is using them to bring the good news to those who are seeking answers to life’s most important questions.

In addition, the church has also been involved in several work projects at the YMCA where they meet. They have led some efforts to do trash pickup in surrounding area and done some work in the garden at the Phoenixville YMCA. Recently they built a gaga pit for the Y. Justin said, “It was a great project for the kids! We had a good turnout of volunteers to help build the gaga pit.”

The folks from the church also serve as volunteers at the Healthy Kids Day event at the Y. This is their Y’s biggest event of the year! The relationship between the church and the Y there is so strong that the staff at the YMCA invite Justin and his team to have a table at Healthy Kids Day to talk to people about the church and give out Bibles and information on Express Church.

We love hearing stories like this of how a local congregation is in full partnership with a local YMCA to serve their community together. Working together we can make a difference!
