In December, we shared with you about Serve to Lead, a leadership development event hosted by the YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties.

There were 127 staff and volunteers who experienced that day. 40 different leaders contributed their talents and time to the event, from artists to small group facilitators, from speakers to hospitality team members and production managers. It was truly a team effort.

Here are a few quotes from those who attended:

“I wasn’t sure what to expect and I was blown away. I am still thinking about that new definition of humility, about a self-compassion break at home or work, about MoMo’s chart of feelings and how the dominant feeling was impacting how I showed up in the world. I found the day very moving!”

“Thank you for offering this day away from my desk and duties! It was really needed and very refreshing. I would love to attend again!”

“Best Y event I’ve ever been to.”

“Having a moment to pause and fill my personal spiritual “bucket”. These events always come at the perfect time when I am feeling pretty empty.”

Check out the highlight video to see what the day was like.

Well done to Janele Nelson and her team for offering such an event. They plan to do so again in December 2019, along with other YMCA leaders throughout the year.
