UNIFY is the Worldwide YMCA Christian Mission Network.  It is a platform for YMCAs to share and reflect on the Christian Mission of the YMCA, as stated in the Paris Basis (1855), the founding document of the YMCA:

“The Young Men’s Christian Associations seek to unite those who, regarding Jesus Christ as their God and Saviour, according to the Holy Scriptures, desire to be his disciples in their faith and in their life, and to associate their efforts for the extension of his Kingdom.” Paris Basis, 1855

The next UNIFY Europe conference will be held February 25th to 28th, 2016 in  Hasliberg, Switzerland. The leaders of the European Mission Network have asked that the US Mission Network be well represented at this challenging gathering of Christian leaders within the larger YMCA movement.

UNIFY aims to enable YMCA to:

  • experience loving fellowship and unity with those who follow Jesus
  • serve those in need through commitment and solidarity
  • be more confident in its roots as a Christian ecumenical Movement
  • make its Christian identity relevant to today’s young people and communities
  • be more responsive to the spiritual and social needs of its members and beneficiaries

Unify 2016 intends…
… to provide space and resources for personal spiritual growth.
… to create an opportunity for YMCA people to express and share their Christian faith within the context of the YMCA Movement.
… to help European YMCA’s to strengthen their Christian identity and to take responsibility, by living Christian faith perceivably and relevantly.
… to encourage YMCA’s to spread the Gospel in their individual environment by providing resources and new ideas to help develop Christian emphasis in their work.
… to empower participants as they feel unified and proud of our YMCA background and the richness in European culture.
